manufacture a commodity. The purpose of manufacturing the commodicy is not for per sonal use for the capitalist but only in prodecing it to sell at a profir. Therefore the capitalist goes to the market with money and buys the macbinery, raw macerials and labour power requiaite to produce the commodity. For cach of these requisites ol production the machinery, the ruw inaterials and the labour power the capitalist pays the 'equilibrium value'; that is to say, he or she doca not rely upon striking lucky bargains, but in cach cast pays the going market rale.
He or the then combines these three com ponents to manufacture a commodity. The commodity is then sold. Again, the capitalist cannot normally rely upon a sudden boom in the demand for this commodity; he or she therefore selis it also at its equilibrium value. And yet, despice this limitation, ut the end, the capitalist has more money chan he or she started out with.
